The Best Tips for Starting a Daily Planner

Tips-for-Starting-a-Daily-Planner

It is not a secret that in order to organize the day more effectively and brighter, you need to keep a diary. Sometimes it can be not only a day, a week, a month, or even a year. So, a good organization of the diary will help you to:

  • be more collected;
  • do a lot more than if you haven’t written something in your note;
  • do not forget about important dates and small, but important things, which can sometimes fade from our heads.

Not less important is that a diary is also a great tool that brings us good motivation, especially when crossing out all the things done at the end of the day. At this moment a sense of satisfaction and pride in yourself settles inside us, and this feeling motivates us not to stop and make small steps toward our dreams.

How do I Choose a Diary?

In fact, it can be any notebook that you like, but let’s figure out what actually suits you. Let’s start with a simple one: the number of sheets and the cover. If you are going to keep a diary at home, sitting at a desk, and not carry it with you, then the number of sheets can be any, even 500. If you want that your note will always be with you, choose a more compact variant. The format is preferably no larger than A5, so it does not take up much space in the bag or on the table. As for the coloring and design of the cover – choose based on your taste. If you don’t like the choice of covers presented at a local bookstore, buy a plain notebook, print out a couple of favorite pictures or buy stickers, and make the cover decorated in your individual style.

What to Start With?

You can start with the plan for each day, like planning to become a morning person. But, if you prefer to approach everything seriously and thoroughly, start with the calendar and goals. At the beginning of each month, set aside a U-turn for this. You can do it with just a calendar or just a list of the goals, or you can put both options on the page at once.

In this case, turn the notebook over and form one page horizontally for a calendar. Make squares with days large enough to fit a few words there. With a calendar, you have the whole month in your eyes: mark important dates, enter events, and deadlines there, and do not forget to put a bookmark on this page, to return it from time to time and check everything.

The second page is your list of the goals for the month. You can divide them into subcategories, such as sport or work, or you can make a single list, where white everything you want.

How to Make a Schedule Correctly?

The main purpose of the diary is to allocate time efficiently. In our fast rhythm of lifestyle, we are always critically short on time, and a clear plan will help us look at the “windows’ ‘ between the main classes and find the time for the things we previously couldn’t have at the moment. Here are two good variants.

Variant 1: spread = week. This option is suitable for those who are more or less time-oriented and can allocate the time by themselves. Why a whole spread for one week? That it would not be boring! Stock up on colored pens, markers, scissors, glue, a stack of bright magazines, and sticker maker machines. Cut out the pictures, collect motivational quotes, and use stickers with your favorite characters or sweets. So, make planning a part of your hobby. In the recording you can start with the highlights of each day: write down the beginning and the end of classes or work, indicate the time for sport or any other activities that you attend, and so on and so on.

Variant 2: page = day. This option is suitable for those who want to learn how to effectively manage their time: on the left, you write the clock: from getting up to going to sleep. You can also vary the minutes: for example, if your classes start at 8:15, then you can change from 8:00 to 8:15, etc. The main thing here is that the difference between the points will be no more than an hour and a half. In each period of time, write down your plans.

Lists

The advantage of such diaries is that you can make not only a to-do list for each day, but goals for the month. You can create a list of “what to see”, “what to read” and “where to go” – the fantasy is for you.

So, we hope that you have learned something new and pleasant from this article. We wish you more bright, effective, and good time spending.
