Potassium, an important mineral abundantly found in celery, dilates the blood vessels and reduces blood pressure. It is rich in fiber, and in this way, it also helps lower blood pressure.

Lowers Bad Cholesterol

Celery is associated with a decrease in the fatty molecules present in the blood. These fat molecules may lead to hyperlipidemia and increase the risk of heart disease and stroke. Celery contains butylphthalide and other phthalides that help lower your bad cholesterol, LDL (Low-Density Lipoproteins). Research has shown that daily eating a few stalks may lower your cholesterol significantly.

Celery also regulates the secretion of bile, which is essential for fat digestion and metabolism, thus ensuring a lower cholesterol level while you sleep peacefully.

Regulate Bowel Movement

Is your sleep disturbed because you are bloated? Bloating causes tummy aches and hinders peaceful sleep. Try celery to relieve the bloating by digesting the undigested residue in the stomach and intestine. Celery is rich in dietary fiber and water. They both work together to regulate your bowel movements, increase the secretion of digestive enzymes and relieve constipation and bloating.

Celery is also a natural antibiotic for bacteria that cause SIBO, a condition in which unwanted bacteria make their colonies in our gut, causing pain and bloating.

Relieves Inflammation

Eating celery as a part of the daily diet helps relieve inflammation and pain. Various antioxidants are present in the celery in ample amounts, including Polyphenols which help treat health disorders naturally. Eating celery before bed relieves joint pains and helps you sleep peacefully. Celery also reduces inflammation of the lungs to relieve asthma and increases oxygen supply to the blood.
